Abstract
This paper presents results of test performed on a busbar disconnector as one part of a 300 kV gas insulated switchgear development program. Busbar disconnector function in double busbar substation, characteristics required by standards, main parameters of switchgear, design feature and tests results are given and discussed. A low speed disconnector is proposed as an optimal solution regarding values of pre-arcing and arcing time as criteria for wearing of contacts and reliability in service.
