Abstract :
The accuracy of a segmentation process in which the neighborhood of a voxel is needed to determine its tissue type is discussed. The accuracy of the placement of the separating surface is emphasized. Some simple stochastic models and probability distributions are used to demonstrate the issues addressed in this research. The determination of the image texture boundary and the choice of image texture model are examined
