Abstract
The LED (light emitting diode) printer is a new type of printer, which adopts the techniques of electrophotography and LED array light scanning. The high performance video controller (VC) gives the printer the characteristics of high speed Chinese character printing (over 10 sheets/minute), multiple kinds of fonts, and high printing quality. In this paper, a self-designed VC using Intel 80186 (Host CPU) and TMS 34010 (Graphics CPU) is proposed, and the idea of a design for the VC is presented in detail
