Abstract :
Two compact ultra-wideband (UWB) monopole antennas with band-notched characteristics are reported. The notched filter is achieved by introducing one printed E-type dualmode resonator. By adding one E-type resonator close to the feed line, band-notched properties in the downlink of X-band satellite (7.25-7.75 GHz), higher WLAN (5.725-5.825 GHz) bands are achieved. Also by appropriately adjusting the resonator dimensions, the notched band could cover the WLAN (5.15-5.35 GHz and 5.725-5.825 GHz) with the high selectivity. The simulation shows the antennas have stable gain and good omnidirectional radiation patterns.
