Abstract :
AC drives based on direct torque control (DTC) of induction machines are known for their high dynamic performances, obtained with very simple control schemes. So many studies have been performed with ASIC or FPGA DTC implementation. In this paper, we investigate for the tolerance of such drive to sensors defects, when the control algorithm is to be implemented in an FPGA. So, authors specially focus on the influence of the FPGA implementation design on the DTC fault tolerance. Simulations are carried out with system generator (SG) toolbox working in the MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. Results are presented and discussed to evaluate the DTC operating under considered faults.
