Abstract
The principle and practical implementation of an automated processing technique that identifies and follows a magnetically tagged heart muscle from end-diastole through end-systole are presented. The process of locating the tagging consists of (1) locating the heart in each axial frame and (2) analyzing the region of the myocardium to detect the tagged regions. A series of studies has been carried out in which the method has accurately and automatically detected the movement of the left ventricular wall
