Abstract
Plane wave decomposition method was implemented for calculating the group velocity dispersion curves for microstructured glass optical fibers. The technology of their fabrication and the advantages of glass compared with silica are discussed. Near-to-zero normal and anomalous group velocity dispersion within several wide wavelength ranges in several microstructured glass optical fibers made of optical crown glass is found.
