Abstract :
A very compact coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed ultrawideband (UWB) printed monopole antenna with triple band-notched characteristics is presented. The antenna uses two open-ended quarter-wavelength slots to create double band-notched characteristics in 3.3-3.6 GHz for WIMAX and 5.15-5.825 GHz for WLAN. What´s more an open-loop band-notched resonator is located on the back of the substrate to create third ban-notched in 7.25-7.75 GHz for downlink of X-band satellite communication systems. The total size of the triple band-notched antenna is just 23*33 mm2 that can realize the miniaturization of UWB antenna. The VSWR of the UWB antenna is all below 2 from 2 GHZ to 11 GHZ and the VSWR of the triple band-notched antenna are more than 7 at the notched-band. The realized gain and radiation efficiency can also illustrated the good characteristics of stopband and minimized EMI between different communication systems. The antenna has been fabricated and experimental results demonstrate the proposed antenna is suitable for stop the WIMAX, WLAN and applications X-band satellite communication during the UWB systems.
