Abstract
This paper presents the design process and performance analysis of a short-axis 10 MW HTS wind generator. After obtaining the optimal design parameters of pole number, effective core length, and the airgap height, the dimension of the stator armature winding is determined based on the relationship between the electromagnetic torque Tem and the airgap sheer stress σ. Then, the structure and electromagnetic characteristic of HTS field coil is built and simulated. Finally, the performance of this short-axis 10 MW HTS wind generator is analyzed.
