Abstract :
An 18-pulse rectifier system based on the differential delta / fork autotransformer connection with three outputs, described in US patent 5,124,904, is analysed and tested. This topology does not need interphase transformers and can comply with current aerospace power quality specifications but presents some problems like inherent impedance mismatches, typical in this type of circuit. To overcome these problems, the design, analysis, and practical performance of a current-balancing technique is presented.
