Abstract :
A new way is proposed for GPR studies of the rocks in confined spaces. Given is the description for experimental installations. The basic parameters are presented of angular scanning and of probing from different angles in limits one location. Standard ground-penetrating radar is equipped with a device for measuring the angle of inclination. It is located in a recess, in the shape of a half-cylinder, so that the antenna can move along its walls. Sensing is carried out from a single location in the sector 60° in discrete mode, in increments of 5°, the 30° each side. In this case, a curved line-up it turns out on the radargram - it is a reflection of the horizontal border. The results are presented of a simulation of the angular scanning in laboratory conditions: in air, water and sand. It is assumed that this method will be used in places where space is limited and where it is difficult to move the radar. Possibility for determination of the rock properties (έ) using a curved line-up has been outlined.
