Abstract :
Real-time consistency on intention maintenance in CSCW has been increasingly focused since some issues have been proposed by S. Greenberg et al. (1992 and 1994) and C. Sun et al. (1998). But since intention consistency among collaborative users involves many non-deterministic factors, especially different human intention, the evolution in such aspect is slow. Inclusion and exclusion transformation operations during processing the intention consistency are mostly adopted by now. The two operations are consistency maintenance of process-oriented, which transforms each operation captured, so they are low efficient and a little costly for a real-time site users. In this paper, a final-oriented method is proposed, which does not transform each operation as soon as it is captured but focuses on the intention consistency of phase or final effects of cooperative operations while trying to hold the consensus of relevant distributed site-users. A processing model is also given in order to depict the mechanism of consistency processing.
