Abstract
The use of parametric elements in the MOM (method-of-moments) solution of volume integral equations has been recently proposed. In the present work, the authors review both the difficulty encountered in this extension and the advantages that can be expected from the use of parametric elements in the MOM technique which are similar to those for the finite-element method (FEM). It is noted that hybrid techniques are facilitated by this extension, because similarities between the MOM and the FEM are increased, since the expansion functions of these methods can now be chosen to belong to the same set. A numerical example is presented.<>
