Abstract :
A special singularity integral equation involving the product of the unit impulse function and the unit step function is presented. Two separate proofs of this integral identity are provided. The importance and application of this integral identity in electromagnetics education is demonstrated by a well-known simple example. It is the authors\´ belief that this integral and its useful application are completely "missing" in the electromagnetic educational literature.
