Abstract
Demand response is an important component in future power systems as it allows better utilization for the resources. Similar to sources control in islanded microgrids, certain loads might be controlled using droop relations to achieve autonomous demand response. A droop based demand response scheme is proposed in this paper to enable the loads from participating in maintaining supply/demand balance without a need for communication systems. The droop relations for demand response are presented and their validities are verified.
