  • Abstract
This paper considers new integrated radio-frequency acquisition unit aimed at mine-cleaning operations and UXO detection. The unit integrates dual-frequency GPR with central frequency of 250 MHz and 700 MHz, low-frequency pulse metal detector, dual-channel positioning system and control unit. The unit helps to detect cavities, mines, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), UXO, arms dumps, and other items at depths from 5 to 8 meters deep, as well as classify metal pieces, both ferrous or non-ferrous. EMC is provided by time-sequencing of all available channels, which helps to minimize cross-feeding. Dual-channel positioning system (which includes both GPS and GLONASS) and wheel sensors provide extremely high positioning. All acquired data are displayed on the portable monitor as 2D multilayered model. Moreover, processed GPR data could be displayed on the electronic map or location plan. The unit could be carried using the foldaway four-wheel trolley.
