Abstract
High speed grounding switches (HSGS) for 1000 kV class transmission lines are required to interrupt a delayed-zero-current, which does not pass zero for more than 80 ms under particular fault conditions. A new interrupting chamber has been developed with an ability of keeping a gas blast for more than 80 ms. New testing methods have been investigated with the aim of testing the delayed-zero-current interrupting performance of the HSGS
