GTR adaptive drive and protection
Abstract :
Obvious advantages are inherent in the adoption giant transistors (GTR) as the power elements to make up pulsewidth modulated (PWM) inverters. The development of improved GTR characteristics has great connection with the base drive circuit. The authors describe the best drive and protection of GTR and put forward the best drive circuit with protective functions. The circuit adopted is an adaptive base drive style, which improves the switch property and realizes quick and reliable protection to overcurrent, short-circuits and temperature rises. The circuit is applicable to every kind of drive and protection of power transister circuits
