Abstract :
In this paper, the interrupting capacity and arc voltage characteristic of a high voltage vacuum interrupter with different contact structures are measured. In addition, the design principle and arc extinguishing mechanism of various contacts are presented with thorough analysis. Single-pole with axial magnetic field contact and multi-pole with axial magnetic field contact have more prospects to be used in the medium high voltage region in China
