Abstract :
Traditional CSCW systems generally use point-to-point architecture for mutual communication. Peer-to-peer (P2P) architecture requires all the participants to contribute their individual resources in a collaborative group. In this paper, we propose a real-time collaborative editing system based on P2P network architecture. This architecture provides a reliable and efficient communication environment for collaborative editing. Each collaborator participates in the routing of other clients´ requests, and contributes bandwidth to relay data-streams. Another advantage is to reallocate the network resources among the whole collaborative group, thus facilitate the mutual awareness and optimize the collaborative effect.
