Abstract :
Supporting the exploration of large Web sites remains a challenge. Visitors require site overviews to guide their exploration. Text based search facilities tend to be unsatisfactory for exploration as they require specific information and typically return lists of pages where the relationship between these pages is not known. We present an interface that provides multiple overviews of a Web site. Each overview presents an independent classification tree such as Web page position, file type, file size and last update date which also supports selection. Our interface combines the overview panels into a set of coordinated query filters. We present a new coordination that supports both flexible incremental querying guided by incremental overviews across the multiple classifications, and supports independent global overviews.
