Abstract :
This paper presents, from a regulatory perspective, the findings obtained through field measurements of broadband power line communications (PLC) systems. New technology trials were performed in order to verify the performance of PLC systems and validate the effectiveness of interference mitigation techniques implemented in second-generation PLC systems. In addition, regulatory aspects related to the coexistence of such systems with other existing telecommunication systems operating in the 1.7-80 MHz frequency band are discussed.
