  • Abstract
The implementation of JIT (just-in-time) manufacturing is described. It is concluded that JIT required a fundamental change in the company´s business philosophy. It requires time, commitment, and belief in the value of its basic concepts. It is not a quick fix, an inventory reduction scheme or a way to have suppliers hold one´s inventory. With a patient approach and dedicated teams, it has produced a major change in the company´s process
