Abstract :
The paper discusses load compensation using a distribution Static Synchronous compensator (DSTATCOM). DSTATCOM is capable of supplying ac and dc loads in 3-phase 4-wire distribution systems. In this we utilize the method of instantaneous symmetrical components to extract the compensator reference currents. The operation of the compensator has been verified through (MATLAB) simulation and detailed simulation results are given.
