Abstract :
Bandwidth demand in homes and businesses is steadily increasing. To meet this demand, Verizon is deploying an all fiber access network using a PON (Passive Optical Network) architecture. The network of the future needs to be robust and flexible. Verizon´s FTTP (Fiber to the Premises) network provides Verizon the infrastructure to meet ever increasing bandwidth needs. Verizon´s fiber-optic network provides the capability for nearly unlimited bandwidth for voice, Internet and high-definition TV services, and is designed to handle new applications as they develop. Verizon´s services, FiOS Video and FiOS Internet, offer video and data services that are unmatched by any other service provider. Verizon has an aggressive deployment planned - that is on track. Service innovation will continue to accompany infrastructure deployment. Market acceptance is beating expectations.
