  • Abstract
T-DMB (terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting) involves data broadcasting services such as BWS (broadcasting Web site), slideshow, EPG (electronic program guide) as well as audio and video services. However, since these data broadcasting services are defined in the conventional DAB standard, it is difficult to satisfy a variety of users´ needs in the present, even compared with various services provided through the internet environment. In this paper, we present the new data broadcasting service in T-DMB using SVG (scalable vector graphic), which is a language for describing vector graphic. After defining the proposed service in the T-DMB standard, we also verify it from the test bed system constructed through implementation of the SVG contents server and the SVG supporting T-DMB receiver. This shows the technical possibility of the SVG based data broadcasting service in the T-DMB system.
