Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a novel CDMA system, the wavelet packet based multicarrier modulation CDMA system. Such a system can achieve robust performance against multipath fading due to the time-frequency adaptivity of wavelet packets. Equal gain combining and maximal ratio combining equalization techniques for such a system are compared in a slow fading frequency selective Rayleigh fading channel under both perfectly synchronized and asynchronous conditions. Our results show that under both situations, the maximal ratio combining has better bit error rate performance than that of the equal gain combining
