Abstract
A compact printed monopole Ultra-Wideband antenna with three subband notches is proposed and analyzed in this paper. The proposed antenna has the bandwidth from 3 GHz to over 11 GHz. By using two simple types of slot, triple subband-notched characteristic is obtained. A simple straight slot is etched on the radiating patch to acquire the subband notch at 3.3-3.7 GHz for WiMAX band. In addition, three simple semicircular slots are etched on the radiating patch to achieve another two subband notches at 5.15-5.825 GHz for WLAN and 7.25-7.75 GHz for downlink of X-band satellite communication systems. The antenna is successfully simulated and fabricated. The designed antenna has a compact size of 25 × 29 mm2 and a nearly omnidirectional radiation pattern in the whole bandwidth.
