Abstract :
Personal communications is a rapidly expanding field with many potential applications. The wireless communication systems designed for indoor environment are expected to handle voice and data services. The millimeter wave band appears to be a favorable choice as it meets the requirements of sufficient bandwidth, sparse usage, small RF device dimensions and favorable regulatory environment. It also has the potential to support broadband service access. This paper reports the results of a computer simulation tool developed for evaluating the traffic handling capabilities of time division multiple access (TDMA) system operating with time division duplex (TDD) in indoor environment. The simulator is used to quantitatively present the impact of blocking probability, traffic offered by the portable, portable density and call congestion on system performance
