Abstract :
Analytical method is used to obtain an exact solution of multiple scattering of electromagnetic waves by multiple spheres configuration problem. This method is based on the superposition solution of Mie theory, in which the scattered field is expressed as a superposition of vector spherical harmonic expansions for each sphere in the configuration. The recursive relations allow for the implementation of the “order of scattering” technique to calculate the addition coefficients and determine the scattered coefficients for each sphere. With this solution, we can calculate both near-field and far-field electromagnetic properties of any multiple spheres configuration even when the spheres are in contact. A program was written to illustrate the solution. Some calculation results of near-field and far-field scattering properties are presented in this paper.
