Abstract :
The design of a sliding correlator based direct sequence spread spectrum system is described. The design philosophy was simplicity, keeping in mind the need for system flexibility. The major design issues are signal generation and synchronisation. A direct digital synthesis signal generator was used to verify transmitter operation and to test the correlator performance under conditions such as additive Gaussian noise and co-channel user generated interference. Experimental results for attributes such as process gain agree well with theoretical expectations
