Abstract :
This paper summarizes the results of an extensive series of propagation measurements conducted by NYNEX in an urban local loop environment in a residential area in Brooklyn, New York, as part of its evolving efforts to characterize the radio environment in the 1850-1990 MHz band. These results include propagation loss and power delay profile measurements for several hundred transmit/receive configurations in the immediate surroundings of a potential trial site for wireless loop applications. The maximum RMS delay spread for all the measurements is 543 ns. Path loss vs. distance statistics are summarized and used as a basis for an initial trial design
