Abstract :
Information technologies and the Web are challenging, and changing the way industry works. It is believed that Web-based 3D interface can be applied to strength the interactive visualization and manipulation for product information. In this research, a Web-based 3D virtual technology for developing product information framework is applied in automotive electric system. The proposed framework is very convenient for different partners (e.g. codesigners, manufacturers, customers, etc.) to view the aesthetic functions and verify their related design functions over the Web. The research results can also be used to develop an environment for collaborative design and online discussions.
