Abstract :
Businesses become globally distributed and speed to market is a critical success for new products. However, global cooperative design in legacy system reengineering is formidable because of the communication and coordination issues. Besides finding the domain expertise via the agents and distributing the different process steps at different sites, establishing communication queues and conducting the process steps accordingly will dramatically reduce the impact of the communication delay to the entire project and shorten the time to market. In Lattice® system reengineering, this model was adopted, and the impact of the communication delay occurred in global cooperative design was minimized.
