Abstract
Using the application of bluck data transfer, we investigate the performance of Concurrent Multipath Transfer using SCTP Multihoming (CMT) with existing five retransmission policy under the scenario of a sender is constrained by the receive buffer (rbuf). We find that all of retransmission policy has some defects in aspect of reducing receive buffer blocking. In order to further alleviate some of the throughput degradation caused by rbuf blocking problem, the combination of Congestion window, Slow start threshould and Lossrate(CSL) to be taked into account. Based on this, we present a suggestion called compound parameter Retransmission policy (i.e., Rtx-CSL policy) to further improve the goodput of infinite rbuf CMT association. We also discuss CMT performance using Rtx-CSL policy and constrained rbuf values of 32 KB, 64 KB, and 128 KB. A demonstrate using simulation is provided showing how rbuf blocking is reduced and overall throughput of an rbuf- constrained CMT association could benefit from Rtx-CSL policy.
