Abstract
Principal aspects of the power section design of high-quality cycloconverters ar discussed. It is shown that it is possible to reach the lowest torque ripple and highest dynamic performance with the simple power section by using an especially suited control concept. An optimal hardware and software structure with a comfortable graphic user interface is introduced to meet the highest customer requirements with regard to communication, diagnostics, and flexibility without loss of dynamic properties. In addition, the control system features an extremely comfortable surface for documentation and configuring.<>
