  • Abstract
    Employees are the most important factor in the success and failure of any organization. The catering industry is a service industry that sells foods and other things to its guest therefore employees´ performance plays a very important role. The hospitality industry in India is running short of good employees and facing a serious threat from other sectors also. The reasons behind this are some of the motivational factors like good remuneration, a work-life balance, better working environment and faster professional growth are providing by other service sectors. Correlation and regression analysis are used for this analysis. This study investigated the role of motivation and its components e.g. compensation, performance evaluation, appraisal, training and development and promotion practices on employee performance in the catering industry under Hospitality organization in Kolkata.
