Abstract :
The aauthors present a performance study of a digital mobile communication system (DMCS) which is a two-way radio frequency data communication network. The purpose of this modeling (multi-server queueing) effort is to provide the mean inbound and outbound message delays under different traffic intensities. Due to the acknowledgement and retransmission mechanism, the inbound and outbound traffic interact closely with each other and the system behavior becomes complicated. Through this study, they are able to identify the operational bottleneck of the DMCS and obtain the system capacity under which the network provides the users with a satisfactory communication service
