  • Abstract
Collection rates for current tactical reconnaissance sensors can be in the 30 Mp/s range, which will increase as resolution improves and array sizes increase. A major problem in reconnaissance is to reduce the huge amount of imagery input from high rate sensors to a manageable number of images for exploitation. A discussion of tradeoffs is provided for wide area search visualization in reconnaissance ground systems, focusing on sensor collection, image processing and screening, the designation of selected image target areas (SITA) for exploitation, and screening use in dynamic sensor retasking
