Abstract :
This paper compares two main sensorless control techniques for permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM): flux-linkage observer (FLO) and extended Kalman filter (EKF). This paper investigates experimentally five aspects via FLO and EKF: the error of estimated position, speed response, variable speed tuning, the ability of speed zero crossing and convergence in the estimation for position transition in four-quadrants
