Abstract :
This paper gives a new framework for the sample-rate conversion problem. Instead of the conventional construction of combining an LTI digital low-pass filter with up/down samplers that works in a fast sampling rate, we allow a periodically time-varying filter that operates in a much slower rate. The problem is placed in an H sampled-data control framework, and optimizes a continuous-time performance, rather than the conventional digital design in the discrete-time domain. A simple numerical example is presented
