Abstract
Studying of space charge waves (SCW) is important both for optimisation of multi-cavity relativistic klystrons (MRK) and for their usage in wave methods of collective ion acceleration. In both these cases should be known plasma wavelength, its dependence from the amplitude of the signal exciting the SCW. Calculation of this characteristic of SCW on the basis of different models, especially in nonlinear regime, is not exact. That is why physical experiment is important, which lets to define plasma wavelength in linear and nonlinear regimes. In this connection the task of operative physical modelling of SCW in relativistic electron beams and the study of their characteristics in nonlinear model is of actuality
