Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is to adjust the “Cost231 Walfisch-Ikegami” model for the prediction of the radio attenuation in the 3rd generation networks band (such as 2100 MHz for HSPA+). The existing models cannot be applied directly in Tunisia because they are developed in countries which morphology is different from that in Tunisia. We propose to calibrate the chosen model using Genetic Algorithm in order to minimize the error rate between statistical measurements and theoretical values. After, we adapt it to Tunisian urban environments by adding the shadowing and the rain effects.
