Abstract :
Applications for mobile multimedia(audio and video) require to adopt CPUs with high energy efficiency. Mobile multimedia solutions require low power and high performance consequently. In this paper, reconfigurable processor for mobile multimedia with high energy effiiency is proposed and confirmed for multimedia applications. Also, we propose the architecture of reconfigurable processor with tightly coupled reconfigurable architecture. Reconfigurable processor with 563 MOPS/mW and 135 MHz was developed by 90 nm CMOS technology. We tested it for mobile multimedia applications(MP3 and H.264).
