Abstract
Different types of electronic load simulators for testing of power supply have been developed and commercialized. However, there exist many drawbacks, for example, it can only provide 4 modes including constant resistance, constant power, constant current, and constant voltage to simulate simple dc load and cannot simulate a load with dynamics such as R-L and R-C loads. In this paper, a method to construct a new dynamic power electronic load simulator (DPELS) is proposed and explored, and a newly digital repetitive control algorithm for the DPELS to reduce the load behavior simulation error is applied. The simulation and experiment results on a single phase full-bridge power amplifier with two stage output filter shows that this method can exhibit the load behavior approximately. It is verified that the proposed DPELS can replace a heap of RLC power components and achieve good dynamic response.
