Abstract :
A W-band SIW horn antenna is designed and fabricated using PCB process. Measured S11 reaches -15 dB at 84 GHz with bandwidth of 1 GHz and the maximum simulated gain is 9 dBi. The antenna is loaded with dielectric to increase gain and the effect of different loading lengths on gain is studied. The antenna is fed using a WR10 standard waveguide through a coupling slot in the SIW. The effect of changing the slot width on the return loss is studied. Good agreement is achieved between measured and simulated results. The proposed antenna is suitable for medical imaging and air traffic radar.
