Abstract :
Research on spatial variability of groundwater quality plays an important role in investgate the source of groundwater pollutant and assess the degree of groundwater pollution. Focus on the problem of groundwater quality deterioration in Xianyang city caused by long time groundwater over-exploitation, four counties and downtown city in southern Xianyang were selected as the study area and groundwater quality data of groundwater monitoring wells in 2003 and 2006 were used , spatial analysis was carried out in the study area by using ArcGIS 9.2 ,results show: although most of the indicators still meet the drinking water standards of the nation, the total hardness and the salinity of groundwater increased slowly, trend of water quality deterioration has appeared.
