Abstract :
To delineate wellhead protection zones is the key measures and core contents for groundwater protection, and it is also one of the foundations of decision-making for planning and management department. The urban water supply in Longkou city is mainly from groundwater. With the rapid economic development, the trend of groundwater pollution in Longkou city becomes more and more serious. The method of groundwater wellhead protection zones delineation and the theoretical basis are introduced in this paper, the groundwater source protection zones in urban water supply field in Longkou city in Shandong Province, eastern China, were delineated using the analytic element method(AEM) with time criteria. The groundwater protection countermeasures for protection zones were put forward. It can give guidance for water resources management, land use, environmental protection and urban planning in Longkou city in the future. This method is also suitable for groundwater wellhead protection zones delineation in other places.
