Abstract
When implementing quality systems in organizations, it is important evolve a competency regarding the definition and deployment of business practices. These are often business practices outside of traditional roles. This requires a competency in change agency. In developing a competence in change agency, individuals must learn to see when the necessary elements of change are in place and action is required. Individuals must also learn how to put these necessary elements in place. At Intel the product life cycle (PLC) was deployed from its organizational beachhead to across the company over a period of many years. The PLC is an example of driving a non-traditional business process across many organizations. Lessons learned from this example accelerated the deployment of other non-traditional business processes at Intel. This paper is about the use of change agency with regards to the implementation of the PLC Intel.
