Abstract
This paper is based on a research project completed at the University of Alaska as part of the course work for the Master of Science in Project Manager Degree. The research project was completed in August of 2006 and involved the development and utilization of an online communication tool to facilitate project communication on a $3.8m real estate development project that was completed under budget and on schedule in early 2007. The research project, and resulting presentation, analyzes the use of Internet enabled technologies, and specifically online collaboration tools, as a means to improve collaboration among project stakeholders and increase the efficiency of project centralized endeavors. The research project specifically looked at project centralized real estate development and construction projects; however parallels can be draw to other sectors of the economy as well.
